NameSign respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We keep it simple, just like the rest of our service.
What we collect
When you request a name sign, we collect:
- Your name, email address, and pronouns
- Information you share about your hobbies, personality, occupation, and what makes you unique
- Payment information, processed securely by Stripe (we never see or store your full card number)
We do not collect photos, videos, or any uploaded files.
How we use your information
Your information goes to one verified Deaf namer who has been assigned to your order. They use it only to create a name sign that fits you. We also use your email to:
- Send your finished name sign video
- Send order updates and delivery notifications
- Respond to support questions you send us
We do not send promotional emails without your permission.
Who we share information with
We share your order information only with:
- Your assigned Deaf namer, only what they need to create your name sign
- Stripe, for payment processing
- Web3Forms, the service that delivers your form submission to us
- Email provider, to deliver your name sign video
These partners are required to protect your information and only use it for these specific purposes.
What we never do
- Sell your information to anyone
- Share your personal details outside your assigned namer and necessary service providers
- Use your name sign video in marketing without your written permission
- Spam you with promotional emails
- Track you across other websites
How long we keep your information
- Order information (name, email, form answers): Kept for 2 years for customer service and tax records, then deleted
- Payment records: Kept for 7 years (required by US tax law)
- Your finished name sign video: We do not permanently store your video. You receive it by email, and the namer may keep their own copy. We recommend saving your video somewhere safe.
- Marketing emails (if you opt in): Kept until you unsubscribe
You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing hello@namesign.co.
Cookies and analytics
We use basic analytics to understand how many people visit our site and which pages they view. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies.
If you prefer not to be tracked at all, you can use your browser's "Do Not Track" settings or block cookies entirely.
Children's privacy
NameSign is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please email hello@namesign.co and we will delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we have about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Delete your information (we will comply unless legally required to keep it)
- Object to how we use your information
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format

California residents (CCPA)
If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of any "sale" of your information. NameSign does not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email hello@namesign.co.
International users
NameSign operates from the United States. If you use our service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using NameSign, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. For customers with active orders, we will email you about significant changes.
